streaming video problems

I can watch videos or movie trailers on small screens but when I click on the option to view them in full screen mode I begin to have problems. The video either doesn't stream along with the audio or stops all together. And I get an Internet Explorer error message asking if I want to send it it or not. I tired downloading the latest Windows Media player but that seem to make matters worst. Can any one tell me what my problem is?
