bsod on Swmidi.sys
need some assistance on this error please. from what i can find on the net this applies to windows me. this system getting the bsod is xp home on a brand new dimension 3000.
exact error - Then: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Then: If first time..........and some instructions about restarting. If occurs again, get help...... Then: Tech info: ***stop:0x00000050 (0xEEF56C48, 0x00000001,0x804EB634,0x00000000) Swmidi.sys-Address EEF56C48base at EEF27000, DATESTAMP 3b7d85fa system is clean ran dell diags and all passed with no errors. can anybody assist here. |

giving the update a try. being a new machine not sure why drivers are needed again. am also thinking possible the sound card part of the system board maybe malfunctioning which is covered by warranty.

That doesn't mean it's going to ship with the latest drivers though.

that is true could have been sitting in the warehouse for a while. the 3000 is no longer in production so it could have been one of the last ones. sold a lot of those machines this year and last this is the first problem with one.
