I have been given an old computer running 98se, all is well but when I try to load a Noddy game for my grandchildren the Cd ROM fires up and starts to install, then stops displaying the following error code 0x80004005 unknown error. I am not sure of system specs so cannot post them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Go to www.belarc.com and download the free Advisor and run it - you can get all the specs. Make sure it meets minimum specs for the game. Clean the CD drive with a lens cleaner. Test the ram with memtest86+. Scan for viruses, trojans, and spyware. Test the hard drive with diagnostics from the manufacturer.

Thank you GLC I have done as you suggest that will be a program I keep hold of. With respect to my problem it turned out that I had not installed the sound and video drivers properly. Having re installed them all is now working, thank you again for your time.
