Strange install....should I be worried?

I just updated my win2k pro to winxp pro via winxp pro corporate edition that i got from my dad.

The problem is I left it to install and came back about 3hrs later and it was still on a black screen with an hour glass. At the beginning they said the black screen was normal but 3hrs to upgrade a pc with pretty nice hardware? I figured something was wrong so i restarted. But to my surprise it boots right into xp pro and starts updating?? Everything seems cool now, I updated all the way up to sp2 and reinstalled some drivers and Ive even had a noticeable increase in fps(maybe due to enabling hyper-threading?). I dunno, im just concerned it may have missed something or had been installed improperly. Any suggestions?

Ahh the wonders of computers .. sometimes things that should work dont .. so dont be surprised with the corollary.
Make sure that you are legally allowed to install a corporate edition on your PC. And the next time create a slipstreamed SP2 CD for your installations.

"And the next time create a slipstreamed SP2 CD for your installations."

I keep seeing references to a slipstreamed CD, what is it and how does it work or what does it do for you? Is it some type of recovery disk?

Sorry for the clueless questions but I truly am An sorry for the hi-jack if this is concidered to be one, I did not intend it to be so.
