XP Probelms Won't Boot

Ok, I went to Microsoft self-help since its OEM, (its Professional by the way) every time i boot after showing my raid array is healthy this error comes up saying that i can't boot cuz this file is missing or corrupt C:\windows\system32\config\system and it tell me to boot from my cd and repair, so i repair and i get inot the revocery console right...as it said on the self-help it told me to write: copy C:\windows\system32\config\system
when i type that and enter it, it responds access denied....if this is the way to fix my problem what can i do? if there is any other way of fixing this please tell me!

recovery console --- wrong !! Go in just like your going to do a regular installation and after the installation program detects an already laoded version of XP it will give you the option to repair the current installation, just choose yes and it will do it's thing. I think you do have to redo all the windows updates afterwards though...

You shouldn't lose any files. As long as you do the repair NOT the reformat. Even then it would only format the OS drive, and it looks like that's seprate from your RAID storage drives.
