Hi All:
I would like to get rid of these annoying pop-up windows, see link ... http://home.earthlink.net/~billlane28/stop.jpg As I drag my mouse around, they seem to be covering something I want to read, and to me they seem unnecessary to me anyway. Thank you ahead of time, your help is always appreciated !! OS: WinXP Pro Bill Lane P.S. Well I see it's called a "Hover Box", anyway I'm not just talking about this site, I want to get rid of them popping up everywhere I go, on my computer, and on the internet.

I'm beginning to think the site is having some problems. There is a thread about how graphics are showing up in the wrong spot. I've been having problems with posts "sticking."
And... I'm having a simular problem as yours. The popups are popping up when they shouldn't, but they are not as big as your screen shot. Sometimes they are popping up after I've clicked on a thread to view it and is in a new window. Plus, they are staying popped up for an abnormal amount of time. Mods?? |

Been using FF, none of the issues you mentioned TwoRails are happening to me.
No popups, no misplaced images, all my posts 'stick'.

I'm running FF, too, ryan124712. What browser are you running Bill Lane?
Here's a screen shot of my popup. I'll have the "New Posts" window open, Shift+Click to open a thread in a new window, the popup will disappear (as it should), the new window will open and I'll start reading the thread, then the popup re-pops up!? edit: I guess I wasn't too clear: I'm not having any of the graphics in the wrong spot problems listed in the other thread... Those would normally appear over a link like was shown in Bill's site, but I tired searching around FF options and could not find anything that removes the 'popup description'. What I find weird is that you are getting them at random times and in random places.
Here is another site with the same problem being discusses looks like the admins has to disable the " Forum Display Options (forumdisplay) > Length of Thread Preview Text" feature. |

Actually, I like the little preview when checking out threads, but they shouldn't be opening after the thread is opened... ??

I haven't noticed this...but I had the wierd random images problem, but that seems to be fixed now. Using FF.
Actually I think I did have some wierd "pop-ups" like those tending to stick on the screen a while back, but it's not doing it now.
