Pissed Windows XP Pro not loading "autochk program" error

Ok,
I got my new PC up and going a few days ago and now I was downloading a shared program from Limewire (trying it out be4 I buy it), I scanned the zip file for viruses, and it check ok, but who knows there might be a new one on the file and I don’t have the latest updates from Norton. Anyhow, when I restarted WIN XP PRO I keep getting this “autochk program not found” then it aborts the startup of WIN XP and shuts down then tries to startup again, and I have been in this loop for a couple of hours. GOING NO WHERE!!! I’m looking at Microsoft website for help and I’ll see what I get.

Does anyone have an idea how to startup (S/U) WIN XP with this error and get it fix with anti-virus prg or WIN utilities?

Here a couple of things I’m thinking of:

· Creating a S/U disk for WIN XP off the net and then booting to that

· Boot to Norton CD and try to start WIN XP

· Can I use the WIN XP CD that I bought to solve this issue without formatting the HD.

Try booting into safe mode(hit the F8 key during computer boot) and see if you can delete Limewire files and do scans.
