Ok,
I got my new PC up and going a few days ago and now I was downloading a shared program from Limewire (trying it out be4 I buy it), I scanned the zip file for viruses, and it check ok, but who knows there might be a new one on the file and I don’t have the latest updates from Norton. Anyhow, when I restarted WIN XP PRO I keep getting this “autochk program not found” then it aborts the startup of WIN XP and shuts down then tries to startup again, and I have been in this loop for a couple of hours. GOING NO WHERE!!! I’m looking at Microsoft website for help and I’ll see what I get. Does anyone have an idea how to startup (S/U) WIN XP with this error and get it fix with anti-virus prg or WIN utilities? Here a couple of things I’m thinking of: · Creating a S/U disk for WIN XP off the net and then booting to that · Boot to Norton CD and try to start WIN XP · Can I use the WIN XP CD that I bought to solve this issue without formatting the HD. -Hector |

Try booting into safe mode(hit the F8 key during computer boot) and see if you can delete Limewire files and do scans.
