A problem in WindowsXP

Hey Guys,

I am having problem with my windowsxp pro edition? This problem has just started recently.Sometimes it happens that when I boot my computer, my winxp doesnot completely load and hangs just after the appearance of the desktop. I donot see even a single icon on the screen when my winxp hangs,the mouse pointer does move, but the right click doesnot work.
I have removed some programs from the startup folder inorder to check the windows,but it didnot do the job. I removed the ram and placed it again in its slot and rebooted the system,even that didnot work. I reinstalled the windows but that also could not solve the problem.

According to my limited understanding and knowledge,either the window hangs or the processing that takes place before the loading of the windows has become pretty slow.

Can anyone help me solve this problem? I would appreciate if anyone explains me the troubleshooting of this problem step by step.
