Spyware and XP
I'm not an expert on Windows XP but I discovered something that might work for you. If somehow you get infected with those pesty spyware that prompts a warning (even when you are not online) and a suggestion to download spyware protection, here is something to try. It worked for me.
Go to "Start" then "Help and Support". Click on "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore" then restore back to a date prior to the date you know you infected with a spyware. You have to select a day that is bolded (restore point)which may mean you may have to go back a few days or a month. Prior to doing that I had the free "Spyaxe" locate the varmits (the free one doesn't eliminate them). Afterward I went back to locate them, they were gone. If any of you Windows expert see problems with that, let me know. Doug |

Just as long as you haven't installed any software or new drivers, etc after the choosen restore date. Otherwise you'll undo those changes.
