If you aren't using any drive-overlay software (like EZ-Bios, or other Ontrack utilities) -
Boot from your Win98se CD "start computer with Cd-rom support" (or boot from a bootable Win98se diskette), and from the command prompt, type fdisk /mbr ______________________________ Another option would be to run an over-the-top of the Win98se http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=70846 _______________________________ Then you'll have to decide what to do with the Win2k partition (if you made one), or clean up the Win2k files left over from your partial installation. If you kept things on FAT32, it shouldn't be too difficult. . . . Gary [ Well, I suppose a third option would be to simply edit your boot.ini file - you can use Notepad to do this http://www.anandtech.com/guides/viewfaq.aspx?i=109 ] Last edited by GaryRouth; 12-04-2005 at 02:01 AM. |
