Please Help Me With Errors On My New Build!
Hey, I have recently built my computer with these specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Asus A8N-E Motherboard Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W PSU ATi RADEON X800XL 256mb PCI Video Card Corsair XMS 1GB (2x 512MB) Platnium Ram Seagate Barracuda 160GB SATA HD Lite-On DVD Rom NEC DVD Burner Microsoft XP Home SP2 The problem is when I use Azureus 2.3.06 and when I'm downloading files, a BLUE SCREEN W/ WHITE WORDS (BSOD) would flash pretty fast and the comptuer would restart. I have caught this : BAD_POOL_HEADER. First I would get BAD_POOL_CALLER but its mostly BAD_POOL_HEADER now. This only happens when I'm downloading files. If I open Azureus, nothing would happen. And sometimes when I donwload files to install things, I would get an NSIS Error. ![]() Please help me with this problem. This is the computer I spent money on and I wish the errors would go away. |

Hi ricecracker -
My first question is whether you have your computer set to automatically restart after a system failure. You can check this by right-clicking on the "My Computer" icon on either your Start Menu or your Desktop, then select "Properties", "Advanced", and in the "Startup & Recovery" section, click on "Settings" -> go to the "System Failure" section, and make sure that there is no checkmark in the box next to "Automatically Restart" (it's the third box down in that section). To clear the checkmark, just rest your cursor over the box and click. This will enable you to see the full error message rather than rebooting = the error message should help us figure what the problem might be. You can post the error here if it doesn't seem to lead to any clear-cut clues. _________________________ Quick fix tries - 1) get the latest version/beta of Azureus and try that 2) update your NullSoft Install System (NSIS) 3) try a second opinion on whether unwanted guests are visiting your computer http://housecall.trendmicro.com (this version asks you to allow it's ActiveX control = it's signed & good) Best of luck . . . Gary [P.S. if you haven't been to those webpages recently, here are the links - http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Main_Page . . . and, in the case of Azureus, you might decide to go back a version, if the latest Beta doesn't help ] Last edited by GaryRouth; 12-04-2005 at 11:53 PM. |
