Windows Shutting Abruptly
My PC just stops while using it. I don’t know where the source of the problem is, i.e. Windows. For some reason or another, windows stops working. The monitor doesn’t detect any signal so that once sign, but get this the lights on the tower remain on the power light is also on, but the HDD light is off. I don’t know what could be the culprit. I updated Windows XP last week so I don’t know if it was update that did me in. I’m going to check my update log to see what files were updated and also use Norton to see what that tells me. Does anyone have ideas what’s going on?

try leaving it in safe mode, try to run a diagnostic for your HDD, might also be a problem of failling powersupply or dust, try doing a dust cleaning

I would try doing a system restore back to a date before the problem started, and see if that fixes it.
