Well we arent supposed to talk about crack versions on open forums, its in the rules. But they both perform the same, since it is the same thing. anyway SP2 is an upgrade so if you have XP SP1 and upgrade it throught the net, youll have the same as an XP SP2, if you understand what i mean

Right, you could install it just to get the system up and running...but only for 30 days and it'll constantly bug you to activate.

I would stick with regular XP Home (unless you need specific features of Pro)...there are many horror stories that go along with the x64 XP Pro

I thought as long as both computers belong to you, you could use the same copy of Windows. Am I confused?

Its the same for Microsoft Office, 1 license/per copy. im not saying you cant do it, im just saying its improper to do so.

not only Office but all the games and software is the same, unless the software comes with more than 1 license its improper to use it twice

I believe Office is slightly different - you are permitted to install a copy on your desktop, and one portable device (laptop).

I think office also has a way to keep track of how many times it has been used. I was a noob with this stuff a while back and tried to install office on my PC after I had installed it on my parents and the activation code didn't work. And once, while installing XP pro, I had lost my authentic number thing, and tried the one listed on my dad's laptop and guess what - it worked lol. But I soon found my key and reformated and did it properly to assure I could activate it right.

You need to activate it, then you can use it forever.
