Is there any resources?

For the most part I keep a tight ship on my notebook. I keep a careful eye on my background processes and notice a couple that do not belong or are I am unsure of. For example, an application called SVCHOST.EXE is duplicated six times under the system, (me), and Network / Local Service user names. Is there a website that might educate me more on what most applications duties are?

It's fine to have multiple instances of svchost.exe - read : http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056
or http://www.liutilities.com/products/...brary/svchost/

I wouldn't .. Windows inherently has any tool you need to do a basic diagnosis of whats going on in your system. Personally I dont see the need for gunking my system with redundant programs.
