Smile himen.sys prob.

this is moms computer and i wont be able to mess with till tommorrow. Just thought i would ask if you have encountered this type problem.
just as screen looks
The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\windows\himen.sys
There is an error in your config.sys file on line 2

press when ready
following file is missing or cor. c:\windows\himen.sys
\dblbuff.sys
\ifshlp.sys

himen.sys is missing
make sure that the file is in your windows directory.

compaq deskpro 5120 ,, windows 98. looks like 4 sticks of mem. ( not sure of amount)

just aksing if you had an off the top of the head way to head.. wipe clean.
or maybe try new memory.
i havnt done anything to it.. just dont got time till tommorrow really.

You probably have defective ram. Test it with memtest86+.

I guess it will just do it thing even though i only get a c: prompt
i guess since it has 4 sticks and 2 look alike and the other 2 look alike that i could probably pull 2alike out and see if that is the problem also..
i will try the memory test thing.. i am curious how it works.. thanks for the link.

wiped clean and re install and that seemed to fix it..
