weird Windows media problem
I have no viruses and nothing has changed on my comp that I can think of. Im on Win XP and the last few days when I click on any link that takes me to a page where it would stream windows media player ex. movie / game trailers an error pops up that tells me windows media player has encountered a problem and needs to close and it closes the IE windows with it.
I reinstalled windows media player again but the same keeps happening. Thanks |

depending on how I open the page or click the media link it will also give me the Internet explorer has encountered an error and shuts down as well. Dunno what to try.

What version of WMP? Is there a link where the rest of us could try to see if we've got an error?
Do you get an error number? Also check your event viewer to see if there are any error messages. WMP9 error messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...yererrors.aspx WMP10 error messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...10/errors.aspx Also suggest running a test for damaged codecs/plugins > C00D0FD6: Damaged or incompatible plug-in |
