Virus Transfer
I have a friend who just got a new p.c. system and has a minor problem with a virus
A good porttion of the software was copied over from an old Dell laptop. The new p.c. is an HP pentium 4 running windows xp media edition with 1 gig of memory and on board graphics and sound. For protection, I set up AVG free, Ad-aware, and spybot. AVG after a scan is reporting 2 infected files first is: Beyond Class - Virus identified, Java/ByteVerify C:Backup/Documents and settings/Pepper/Application.Data/Sun/Java/Deployment/cache/javapi/v1.0/jar/archive.jar-5b17445f-658673f.. second is: archieve.jar5b17445f-658+Virus identified.Java/Byte/Verify C: Same as C: above. How can I get rid of these viruses? AVG doesn't list a removal process. I don't think they are harmful, but would like to get rid of them. Thanks for the help Jim B

Thats one of the few things I don't like about AVG Free; not being able to delete trojans from java downloads.
I have used CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to remove them in when they're in the internet cache. Yours seem to be within a backup, just search and delete them manually. |
