Need Help getting data off old hard drive

Like the subject says I have an old hard drive here that I need to get into my documents under documents and settings on the drive but folder sharing hasn't been enabled. I know that if you have windwos xp pro you can get by that but I don't so I was wondering how I could get the data off of the hard drive. I have an xp 8 in 1 disc with ntfs dos pro on it but I don't know what command I could use to copy the file to my desktop or whatever, or if it is even possible. So I guess my question is can I do it in dos or is there another way?

No idea what XP 8 or ntfs dos pro are.

Are these hard drives on 2 different computers? If so, the easiest way to transfer files is to remove the old hard drive, install it in the other computer, boot up, copy all of the files from the old hard drive to the new one, disconnect it and you're done.

This is happening because you do not have ownership of the file. How to take ownership of a file or folder is described here: http://support.microsoft.com/default...308421&sd=tech
