Problem with highlighted dektop icons
Hi,
I am using Windows XP Home edition, and my desktop icons are all highlighted. I have try to remove the "Use drow shadow on desktop icons" on the system advance setting and the "lock Desktop items" under display and "lock web items on desktop" when right click are both uncheck. However, the highlight problem still unsolved.. What should I do now? |

Hi jch02140
By highlighted, do you mean that the icons have identifying text in rectangular boxes, and you'd prefer "transparent" identifying text for the icons? If yes, Windows XP's default behavior is to have the drop shadows in use, which allows for a degree of the "transparency" effect (no rectangular boxes around the icon's text). Another way to go transparent is to use the "Classic View" for the Desktop, and choose a single background color for the icon's text box that exactly matches the desktops color. And yet another is to use a third party program to provide this "transparency" effect, such as "Iconoid" http://www.download.com/Iconoid/3003...ml?tag=lst-0-7 an oldie such as "SeeThru" used to do the trick for Windows versions up to Win2000, you could drop them an email to see if their program works in XP: http://www.download.com/SeeThru/3000...ml?tag=lst-0-1 Best of luck . . .
