Wallpaper not displaying on Win ME

Hi All,

I`m hoping this is something simple but can anyone help.

I`ve just upgraded my PC from Win 98 to Win ME (it`s an old P3). The graphics card I have is a ATI Radeon 7500-LE 64MB SDR DVI + TV.

When the operating system is booting my desktop wallpaper displays, but as soon as the icons and the start bar appears on the desktop the wallpaper goes black and cannot be changed.

I`ve tried changing it in the display properties, but it stays black. There`s an ATI control centre Icon on the bottom right of the screen, but all that does is change the screen resolution and flip the screen.

Can anyone help at all?

Right click on the desktop, turn the active desktop off by unchecking the view as a web page item. If it's already unchecked, try checking it.
