Log on Window xp Home
I was for a time using a password to log on to windows.
I am no longer using it and want to get rid of the log on box that appears to get into windows. I just want to boot up directly to my desktop. I am sure there is a way to do this and I don't remember how. Can someone tell me what to change? Thanks

Xp powertoy TweakUI has an autologon feature.
you could go into Control Panel/User Accounts select "Change the way user log on and log off" Check the "use the welcome screen" hope this helps |

Just open the User Profiles in the Control Panel and select your user name as one to change. Remove the password. Then make sure the Welcome screen option is checked under "change the way users log on and off". Last, make sure your XP is fully updated if you've installed the .Net framework. The .Net User account will force clicking your User account on start up if it's not fully updated. Or if you have no use for the .Net account, you can just delete it from the User Profiles. Your pc should then boot directly to your desk top.
