Xp Pro Question
I have a new copy of windows xp pro sp2 but it says for use with a dell pc only can i still install this on an nother computer of will it not work thanks in advance

Only one way to find out for sure......
Most Dell cd's look for certain code in the BIOS and when it's not found, the installation stops.

Yep, the copy is "customized" to work only with a certain model of Dell PC. And if you have that copy already installed in another PC it won't activate so you won't be able to use it.
