I use MS 98SE and would like to see the folders in my favorites file, when using internet explorer, in alphabetcal sequence. Currently the items within each folder are in sequence but not the folder themselves. I haven't been able to discover how to do this. Can this be done?

Go up to the favorites word at the top and click so the drop down menu comes up, then click on organize favorites, then you can highlight the folder you want and click the box that says move folder. If you are not able to do this then your IE version may be an older one, and if so please go to about internet explorer, found under the help topic and post back here what version of IE you are running, so we can tell you how to do it in that version. You might just be able to drag the folders around... Actually I just tried it and dragging my folders to where I wanted them placed worked for me too...

You can open the favorites and click and drag folders to where you want them.

Thanks ktkendall:
I've ended up in this "quick reply mode" (and I don't understand what that implies) but somehow the forum software wouldn't permit me to make a normal reply to your post. Anyway, I'm using version 6.0.2800.1106 of IE. I tried to do a drag by dragging something to the very top of the list of folders but as soon as I clicked the folder ended up back where it was. To see if trying to drag to the top of the list was the problem I dragged a folder to a position under the first item and when I clicked the folder disappeared... and now I can't figure out where it went. Any thoughts? |

It probably went inside another folder, you'll get a black line when you're inbetween folders, but for the top one I would try pulling the top one down rather than putting ones above it..
Try going in under organize favorites.. Last edited by ktkendall; 12-19-2005 at 05:13 PM. |
