help

I have an older machine with windows 2000 pro, I have a cd with windows xp pro. how do I load the newer version of windows so it becomes my os? in windows nt I get as far as a password screen and it won't read the cd drive. thanks

Are you booting from the Windows XP installation CD? That's all you should have to do to install it.

Is that Xp Pro cd a new one or an older one that came with another computer?
