Question ** Recycle Bin **

Hi All:

My Recycle bin don't show any contents, I would like to have the option to restore files that I've deleted.

I guess it's set to empty automatically, but I can't find where to reset it.

Your help will be very much appreciated, and thanks ahead of time,

Bill Lane

Hi Dark Nova:

What does um mean?

In Recycle bin properties, that box says,"Do Not Move Files To The Recycle Bin.

Remove Files Immediately When Deleted".

This box is not checked.

Now what?

I don't know if having two hard drives, each partitioned into four partitions has anything to do with this problem or not.

OS: WinXP Pro, Clean install.

Thanks,

Bill Lane

P.S. I made a copy of a file, deleted it, went to the recycle bin, it didn't show, but then while still in the recycle bin, I right clicked and told it to restore the deleted file, and it put it back, just that last file not all the files that I've deleted.

HI, I'm also having problems with my recycle bin. It seems I have stuff in there that I cannot see nor can I delete it! Everytime I try deleting it, it gives me this error: Cannot delete Dc126, Access is denied..., If I restart my computer the files dissapear but come back when I delete something, and now they have started to collect in there, in the beginning it only had 4 files that I couldn't see or delete now it has 18 files! Oh and before, it also used to say Dc70 in its place! Can someone please help me out! THanks in advance.

P.S. I tried deleting the stuff from safe mode but still didnt work.

Hi All:

I found the solution to my problem at ...

http://forumz.tomshardware.com/softw...pict29727.html

And at ...

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm#rb

Here's the solution...

This seems to work for many: Make sure that something is in the Recycle Bin (delete any file). With the Recycle Bin closed, right click and choose: Empty Recycle Bin. When the confirm box appears, click ok. Reboot. Now the Recycle Bin should work correctly.

It didn't work for me the first time I tried it, but the second time I shut the computer off and waited a minute before turning it back on.

I deleted a file, went to the Recycle Bin, and there it was, I'm happy, hope this helps hatch too.
