Windows Security Alert
I hate that red shield and the bubble with the security alert. It appears if I am not using one of the 3 major virus scanners this shield stays open. I am using the one PCMECH recommended (Clamwin) which is in my opinion far better than Nortons. How do I turn off this annoying Security Alert?

Right-click on My Computer, select Manage, then click on Services. In the list of Services, double-click on Security Center. Stop it if it is running, then change the startup type to Disabled, then click Apply. It won't bother you anymore. Just remember to make sure you have an antivirus and firewall running.
