Question Just reformatted and I have a few questions

Well ok, so I reformatted my computer and everything seems to be in order. However. When partitioning a new C drive, it said that it was setting it up as a 131 gb partition... It's a 250 gig hard drive, so I was a little concerned there. Surely enough, it's only 131 gigs... But anyway, that's not my main problem. My main problem is that it says that I can't connect to the internet. My cable is plugged in and it's a good connection. It was working fine before I reformatted, but it says it's unable to connect to the internet. I can't get updates such as SP2, which in turn leaves me unable to install my mobo drivers because I need at least SP1 (and apparently bare windows XP is not SP1). How can I fix all this?

So now I go to reformat AGAIN and it's saying all the unpartitioned space I can use is 131 gigs. Did 120 gigs just disappear?? Does that happen ever??

Click on Start->Run and type diskmgmt.msc

Right click on the UNallocated space to create a second partition.

I sure you need at least SP1 to recognise a drive larger than 137Gb.

Yes, you need either SP1 or SP2 if you're using hard drives larger than 137GB.

Create A Bootable Windows XP Installation CD Slipstreamed with SP1. Link to page with information on slipstreaming SP2 located on this page too.
