Question old XP new MOBO

i know this has been covered before quite a few times,

but i still dont quite understand what exactly to do. i know...not very bright am i?

so do i only have to

You need to Uninstall all hardware that is part of the existing mobo. That might be audio, video, lan, etc. as well as the IDE controller. After you uninstall each you may be prompted to reboot. DON'T do that. Instead, just shut down after all are removed and move the hard drive to the new machine. On the first startup the Found New Hardware Wizard will start and you should have your CD ready that came with the new mobo. Use it to install all your new hardware. In some rare cases you may have to do a repair/install with the XP disk.
