Anti-Piracy Software
Like most people here, I've downloaded a few songs in my day. With all the new technology and anti-piracy security coming out, I was wondering if theres anything I should watch for? Like media players that report piracy; or maybe WinXP reporting piracy in the background or things like that?
Anyway, just curious. |

At the moment, you are protected by privacy laws that make it illegal for a program to do that. If it can be done I think it has to be in the program documentation, which nobody reads anyway. There have been cases where similar stuff has happened and the court threw it out because of breach in privacy laws.

Anyone else thinking Sony?
The CDs distributed by sony automatically installed a root kit on the computers, and every time they were played, Sony was notified. The rootkit also left PCs open to exploits which hackers could easily have used.
