Reformating Windows? is it possible

ok guys im I have alittle bit of a problem. I cannot find my windows disk and i want to give my computer a fresh start. Is it possible to like reformat windows?

Without your Windows CD? No.

Actually, you could format your hard drive if you put it in another computer and use Disk Management to format the partitions on it...but since you don't have your Windows CD you wouldn't be able to install a fresh copy of Windows (which is what you want to do I think).

What cricket described was a complete format of your harddrive. This wouldn't exactly give your computer a 'fresh start' - it would erase all your data, and since you have no windows CD, there's no way of re-installing.

Sorry if that's labouring the point, just don't go pulling out your hard drive and formatting without first deciding what you want to achieve...

lol yeah i just called one of my buddies hes coming over with his disk so its all good now but thanks for the help guys
