Windows XP shutdown error
I have an HP with windows xp home edition. Whenever I try to shutdown the computer I first click shutdown once and get no response from the computer other than the dialog box disappears. I bring up the window again to shut down and this time it shuts down as far as the blue screen with the words "windows is shutting down". At this point my computer goes no further and just sits on that screen. It doesn't matter if I restart or shutdown it does the same thing. Any advice would be appreciated. Mo.

Have you already tried the check disk feature in windows ?
I would try that and then do the defrag. To check discck for errors go to "MY Computer" right click the C drive then select properties then tools. Select " error checking. See if that helps.... |
