Windows APM Missing After Re-Install
I have spent hours trying to figure out how to get the Windows APM feature back. I had to re-install Win XP Pro due to problems and all is fine now except I do not have APM features, specifically Standby. There is no option for this in Control Panel - Power Options. Also, on the Shutdown screen the Standby option is dimmed.
All of this use to work fine before I re-installed Windows. How can I re-enable APM, or ACPI ??????? |

Can you get access to your Device Manager? If yes click the + next to Computer to see what's stated there. It should read ACPI Multiprocessor PC. I found this link on MS website pertaining to your problem http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/boo...chap/5566d.asp if this doesn't help I'm hoping someone with more expertise in this matter can give more insight on this. Sorry I can't give an exact fix.

In Device Manager, view hidden devices. Is anything flagged, such as NT Legacy APM?
