Looking for an XP OS...

I need to buy a Windows XP OS (Home or Pro), but so many stores have different prices. I've been to many big retailers and they still sell Home Edition for $200. I think that's way too much, considering that the operating system has been out for quite a few years. So, when I checked some online stores, I found the same thing for about $90-$120. How much do u guys spend on an XP OS. Should I try ordering online. Is it the same thing? and... Does $200 for XP Home sound normal or should it already be repriced.

Just get an OEM version - those a quite a bit cheaper. I think you can find XP Home OEM for around 90$.

its the same OS, the 200$ one probebly comes in a box, the 90$ comes in a bag (thats OEM) so you pretty much pay 100$ for the box.

some stores like the one where i work , only sell OEM OS with the purchase of a system, but im sure you can find OEM windows XP in other stores

With the retail version, you get a certain amount of tech support from M$. With the OEM version, you get none.

Right... with the OEM, the vendor you purchase from provides tech support.. if you call MS, they will ask for a CC # first... with the retail version, you get phone tech support.
