Found Unknown Hardware, EVERY TIME!

Whenever I start my computer up, Windows tells me that it has found new hardware, but describes it as "Unknown" and goes through the process. At the end of the wizard, I check the box to not do it again, but every time I start Windows, it does it again. I think it might have to do something with the IntelliMouse I plugged in once and had to go through a lot of trouble to uninstall the software in order to get the touch pad to work again. Is there a way to get it to stop doing this? Thanks in advance.

Are all your system drivers (chipset, etc.) installed?

Do you have any USB devices plugged in that you haven't installed drivers for yet? Are the touchpad drivers installed?

I think it has something to do with that. Something involving the IntelliMouse. I uninstalled all the software for it because the scrolling of the touchpad wasn't working anymore and ever since then it keeps coming up asking me to install software for new hardware. At first, it had a mouse icon next to "Unknown" which made me initially think it was the IntelliMouse, but after a while it was only the yellow question mark.

Well I've installed everything and uninstalled everything. I've gone through the wizard to install the unknown software, the IntelliMouse, and the touchpad. I'm trying to figure out a way where you can just select what mouse to use, whether its the IntelliMouse, or the touchpad.
