Simple Question

This is for my inlaw... When you right click on any program and choose properties>then compatibily you have a section that says Compability Mode.. In the box you have the option to run with Win 95,98se,Nt.4 or 2000. Why do you get this option when runing it on XP?

The answer is right above that box you can check.

"If you have problems with this program and it worked correctly on an earlier version of Windows, select the compatibility mode that matches the ealier version."

That's for programs that don't run correctly in XP or are 16-bit apps. I have 2 applications I use fairly regularly that need to be run in compatability mode. If I don't, for some strange reason the save feature doesn't work.
