I am not sure if this "Q" is in the right forum if not sorry.
My wife has been sending out pics and some people cannot open them,so my question is this. Is ther a way to send the pic already open? Sometimes friends send me pics and when I open the mail the pic is already open. how is this done?? Thanks |

Usually that's done using HTML mail, but it depends on the recipient's e-mail client too.
What e-mail client are you using? |

What format are you sending the pics in? JPEGs are pretty universal and should work fine. You can also send yourself a CC of the emails that have had probelms to see if they are getting scrambled along the lines somewhere.

We can likely assume that some of the folks getting the pics are using Windows XP, and probably Outlook Express (the default email client). Since SP2, many pics will generate a "some pictures have been blocked . . ." message when the email is originally opened, and those folks will need to click on the message bar to allow them to be viewed.
I like Rail's suggestion to use the .jpg extension - it really is nearly universal. If you've been "copying & pasting" the pictures into Outlook Express (and not "attaching" them - as "attachments"), I recommend that you use the "Insert/Picture" command from the Outlook Express toolbar to embed the pictures into your email. Copy & Paste won't work with pictures very well, the Insert/Picture works every time. Best of luck . . . Gary [if you have friends & family on dialup, you might want to shrink the photos down a bit before sending them = so that they aren't driven crazy waiting for gigantic picture files to download . . . any photo editing program can resize the images for you - save your changes with the "save as" command before you send them off.] |

Ok, thanks guys. I have been sending them as an attachment as JPEG. I will try to insert a pic and see what happens. It's only a few of the people on my list and those I think are the tv-web users. I will leey you know how it turns out.
Thanks |
