deleting an aborted setup from hard drive

Working on a customer's computer and found that he had started an upgrade copy of XP and then turned it off while attempting to fix his sick system. I was unaware of this and ran a repair install of XP to fix the system. While in the install I noticed the Setup installation there. Is there a way to get to that thing and delete it out without reinstallation? Since the computer has gone back to the customer he has somehow managed to get that setup thing running again and called to see what to do and I told him to just shut off the computer and reboot. He did and all was fine.
So how can I get rid of that aborted install?
thanks,
alan

Just have to edit the boot.ini : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q289022/ tells you how.
