HELP with NTLDR

Built a new system intel celeron D 2.8g with intel desktop board and 80g Maxtor hard drive, I loaded windows xp disk that came with my lap top as it was installing it came up with message saying DRIVERS. couldnt be installed so i ignored it and kept going (nout else i can do) thn when it finishes installing i go to load and it say NTLDR missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart, now i cannot go into the recovery console as it just restarts everytime i do, so the recovery console does not work, i cannot make a floppy, i cannot acess windows on the computer i am tryin to get working so what can i do? Please dont just tell me my NTLDR is corupt because i know this i just need to know HOW to fix it not WHAt needs fixing. Also i have tried loads of the things it suggests on other sites so please dont just post a link either, im really at my wicks end with this, ive been all over for help and ended up here so dont send me somewhere else. cheers in advance if anyone can actually help

You should have said all this in your other post in the Build Your Own PC forum...

Is the hard drive IDE or SATA? If it is SATA, load the drivers by pressing F6 at the beginning of the Windows installation.

"I loaded windows xp disk that came with my lap top"...you can't use the CD that came with your laptop to install Windows on your new desktop, you need a new copy of Windows XP.

Rooneye -

An XP license is for a single machine only- this applies to all retail versions.

If it is a manufacturer OEM version (like the one that comes with all laptops) then it is tied to that specific PC legally (see the EULA on the laptop) and likely by customization of the install files by the manufacturer - only the drivers for the laptop etc. This second part is why the install is not working. The first part would prevent it from working after 30 days because you could not activate it.
