I want to setup a RAID
Whats the best RAID setup for me? I want 2 HD's with the same things on both drives so if one drive fails i still have the another. My PC info is in my sig

Raid 1 is the mirroring raid.

Can i setup a mirror RAID with just software? or do i need any hardware?

If you have the Deluxe model of that mother board, it has built in SATA that supports raid 0/1. If not, then you would need to get a PCI SATA controller card that supports raid.

Then you need a PATA raid card. Software raid is not reliable.
I'd personally get an external hard drive housing and some cloning/imaging/backup software. http://www.apricorn.com/product_details.php?ID=332 Just add a hard drive. |
