Computer Reboots on connection with email server

Hi Running WinME (still after all these years) recently moved house. Using Mozilla and netscape mail. Connected to internet and PC rebooted all by itself. Ran anti virus and found Netsky (which I was supposedly protected against.).Still had the repair on my desktop so I ran it, and deleted virus. Decided to do a system restore to better time. PC behaviour exactly the same. Undid restore and lost 3 years of my previous restore points. Now I have a PC that connects to the internet but reboots on contact with email server. Running a broadband modem through a telephone line, I have a 17GB disk with 5.1GB free.
???? lost for words

Download the McAfee command line virus scanner with another computer, transfer it with a CDR or a USB key, and run it. This is how you do it.

Here's the download:

http://download.mcafee.com/updates/superdat.asp

SuperDAT Update
DAT FILE: SuperDat 4680-dat/4320-engine
Filename: sdat4680.exe
File Size: 4770.23 kb
Release: 1/23/2006 9:30:55 AM

Put sdat4680.exe into an empty folder - I suggest c:\mcafee. Open a dos prompt in Windows, at the C prompt type cd\mcafee - then sdat4680 /e

It will expand, you won't see anything. Give it a minute or so, then type scan /adl /clean

Okay that was great information. However as it scanned it couldn't open my service providers software that provides all the links to the internet. And the problem remains. I guess it means deleting said software and re-installing it.?? That's a question by the way.

Boot with a Win98 boot floppy and run it in DOS.
