XP- Ghost-Western Digital ughhhhhhh
Ok simple task-Ghost over a 20 gig to a 120 gig and be done....nope recieved an error "windows could not start because of the following ARC firmware boot configureation problem:
did not properly generate ARC name for HAL and system paths. Please check the windows documentation about ARC configuration options and your hardware reference manuals for additional information" So I used the western digital tools disk and set it up that way-and recieved the same error...any ideas??? |

Hey GLC, I made the floppy like it said at Microsoft,it will boot to the floppy then it says wrong boot ini file and will redirect itself to the c drive and load the operating system, but after that point im lost and it needs the floppy everytime.
Also the Microsoft solution makes this statement "NOTE: The procedure for RISC-based computers is different and not documented in this article." This is a AMD machine-I believe there is a difference between AMD processors and Intel-or am I off in left field??TIA |

For this purpose, you don't have a RISC-based computer.
You could try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q291980/ See if that can fix your boot.ini. |
