Microsoft Messenger?

Got a dumb question here. I am running XP Pro SP2. When I go to shut down. I get a message saying that MSMSGS is not closing. I have to manually close it. I dont have Messenger installed on my PC. Or so it shows in Windows Setup.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Chris

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
Check in the Services area and Disable the Messenger from running. Go to Run and type: services.msc That will take you directly to the Services.

I tried something different. RegEdit
HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
MICROSOFT
MESSENGER SERVICE
SERVICE PROVIDER
{BUCH OF NUMBERS}
Changed the Dword from (1) to (0)
Shut down, Did not see the message.
Maybe I fixed it.
