Have a small problem with shutting down Win98se. I have tried repeatedly replacing logow.sys & logos.sys, which in the past has solved shut down problems but it isn't working this time.
The processor is an AMD Duron 966mhz on a ECS K7s5a mobo. The OS is Win 98 ver 4.10.2222 A the dos ver is 7.10A The problem started just before Christmas when I downloaded and installed an update for ZoneAlarm. To get the machine to shutdown I must first turn off ZoneAlarm, then use the Restart button. I then get the pop-up menu that tells me the machine is busy with the three choices, shutdown, wait or cancel. If I click on cancel, then hit the Restart button again it does a proper restart. Then I can use the Shutdown button and it shuts down properly. If I don't go this root Win hangs at the MS shutdown screen. Any ideas on how I can fix this so it shuts down from the shutdown button?
