System don't shutdown

Hello,

it puzzle me when seeing a new pc stop at 'it is save to shutdown your computer message', i've been tweaking around but still could not find where it went wrong.

please anyone

it is one of those built-in mainboard, PCChips M789, 256 DDR, 40Gb/ WinXP SP2, i came across the same spec before but this one act differrence.

If the M-board has the capability there is a setting in device manager (when you get there, go up to view and check "show hidden devices") for turning that feature on and off. I can't remember the name of the device right off the top of my head, but it will usually be the only one with a red mark next to it (if your running XP). Right click and select enable.

Had same problem

My system kept hanging & wouldn't shutdown erratically. Just the other day I figured out this was my issue:

After applying it, so far so good. Hope that helps ...
