Question POP3 server might be vulnerable

I am running the GFI Lan Guard network security scanner and found this:

Code:
POP3 server might be vulnerable to a remote buffer overflow exploit
Contains a buffer overflow that could result in the overwriting of process memory, including the return address within the stack, and code execution.

How do I verify that I have pop3 server service installed on my server? If I do, how do I remove it?

Help is appreciated.

What OS are you running? Do you have an Exchange server running on it? Any other kind of e-mail server?

ALL common/normal ISP users of companies like Comcast use POP3.

Thank you for the response. This is a windows 2003 server and no exchange. The only thing I know that is installed is MSDE.

Right-click on My Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Services. See if something is running there.

Do you have any other utilities that are running on your computer that might have an e-mail server integrated? Anti-virus?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can do a netstat -a at the command prompt to see what ports are listening.

Have you seen know what Imail firefox daemon and DHCPLM before? The same system just crashed and when I look at the even log, it said: DHCPLM service has failed to start and the same thing with Imail firefox daemon. When I look at the services, I do not see these two services running but when I scan the registry, I did fine references to these two things. Your opinion are appreciated.
