Run msconfig and find what's calling it on the startup tab, and uncheck it.
You may want to do some malware scans - this kind of thing doesn't usually happen by itself. |

Check your Start > Programs > Startup menu. I've seen several people who have accidentally pasted a document or short cut into this menu.

I found a file in the startup but there is no name to it, it has a blank area where the other programs have a tile or name. how do I track it down as I cannot view the whole system address??

It's not opening in explorer, it's actually opening the system32 folder itself and I cannot read the full address in the system config utility? Anyone have any ideas on doing this, ie: expanding the system config utility so i can find this exe file and delete it?

you say not opening in explorer
but that it is opening system32 folder. folder=explorer, no? did you look at the advanced tools within Microsoft Anti Spyware where defaults can be restored? did you, did you? even though the fix is for internet explorer defaults it did correct this aggravating system32 folder thing for me.
