Well when i startup my windows xp, there are two options to go to, Windows XP setup, and windows xp. Now everytime i start windows i have to select windows to get into windows, or it will go right into the setup, and i need to know how to get rid of the windows setup so i wont have to select windows or windows setup under startup, it gets really anoying, if i dont stay and watch the screen and quikly select windows, it will go right into the setup, how do i stop the setup... ive tried cancelling setup while going under it, but its sti;ll there when i restart,,,,,,"

Startup Problem
I would try this:
Go to System Properties Click the Advanced tab Under Startup and Recovery, click the settings button The Startup and Recovery window will pop up and at the top should be a pull down window to select the default operating system. |

juice - everything OK now? -- did you try Cisridn's suggestion?
I wonder if you've set the computer's boot order to look in the Cd-rom first (before going on to look at the hard drive) - and have just left your Windows installation CD in the drive? Removing the CD will let the system boot from the hard drive, if that's the case. To make the change permanent, enter your Bios Setup and change the boot order to the hard drive first. . . . Gary |

thank you guys alot, i did as Cisridn said and when i restart, my opererating system is selected not the windows installer.
thanks you two, i really appreciate it... juice and no i dont have the installation disc in, its weird, its like when you have two operating systems on your computer, but i have the installation and my windows, ive tried going under the instllation with the disc in and cancelling it, it wont cancel, ive tried to finish the installation and it wont allow me to proceed any further, at a section of the installation when the computer reboots, the installation just starts over, and i cant figure out how to make it go away. Cisridn's silution works fine for me, takes the annoying part out of my problem. thanks once again |
