Try unpluging everything from USB as first step, and then let windows to try load it's self, if problem presist you may have some other hardware failure( like memory, etc).
To wipe out hdd clean download utility from HDD manufacturers web site and with it you can do diagnostic and reformat as well!!! |

What kind of computer is this? Home built or name brand?
What are the complete system specs? List the parts by brand and model if you know them. Is this a new computer or an existing one? Are you using a upgrade CD instead of a full installation one? To wipe the hard drive you can use a zero-fill utility like Darik's Boot And Nuke or KillDisk. These utilities will write zeros to the entire hard drive putting it in a "like new" state so you can do a fresh install to it. Cricket

Part of the issue with the repair install could be that you have installed service packs since the time you got the machine.
Is that a brand name or a machine that you built. Your options are different on each. If it is a brand name, wiping the drive might destroy the hidden restore partition, and then you would have to buy a new OS.
