Windows Update Failed!

I have been running into a little Windows Update problem.

All updates besides the definition updates for Windows Defender work perfectly, but this one constantly fails.

The update is called :
Definition Update 1.13.1276.3 for BETA Windows Defender (KB892519)

What is odd, is that now Windows is constantly downloading the Update (repetively) and asking me to install it. Now, you can just imagine how annoying it is to be sitting here typing this, and within 4 minutes having to attempt to install the same update 6 times

I assume this is maybe just a bug which hasn't been worked out yet with Defender, but I was wondering if anyone else has found a fix.

TIA,
Ryan

I haven't heard anything about it. Have you uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest version?

Ah, that is a good idea... I will try that, thanks.

Edit - No Luck, I get this message now when trying to update the definations (automatically after the install of Windows Defender)

Seems like there must be either 1) something I missed or 2) there is a bug

This is a known problem. Give Microsoft some time - Defender is still a beta.

Did you put the right diskette in the drive? j/k. I'll keep my ear open for any updates to the problem and I'll post back here when I find out that its fixed.

Eek - Looks like I spoke too soon. Back to having that pestering autoupdate notifier tray-icon going insane and the updates seem to finish and say they have completed, but they don't change anything and the definitions either still aren't updated or the program still continues saying they aren't.
