When you say "it will not load" - what exactly are you getting? Are you getting an error message? Are you dual booting with the other hard drive? Is the other drive listed as slave? Are they jumpered right?
If you can boot with XP on the "good" drive then you should be able to get to whatever files you need on drive 1, regardless of whether the other drive is booting or not. |

you are correct i should be able to access the files on my other hard drive.
Yes they are jumperd right. When i try to access the files it shows me the access is denied error message. because it must have been locked on the other hard drive so i have no way of getting to the files unless there is some way to bypass that ? is there ? |

You are getting access is denied because of permissions. You have to take ownership of the files and folders on the other drive.

No, you use the "bad" drive as a slave to a drive which has the working version of Windows on it. You can then access it and take ownership of the folders and files you need. Then you can copy what you need to the good drive before you wipe the bad drive.
